School Leaders SLs


The key role of the school leaders is to plan, organize, assess and report, the educational/academic activities and resources in a local education area, and undertake academic supervision of assigned schools and ensure that ail statutory educational requirements are being met. The limited professional development opportunities are one of the main causes for low quality of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Lack of effective leadership at various level (School, Circle and District) is another issue which can hamper the quality of education. The limited number of ASDEOs/SDEOs and large number of schools especially in far flung area, which can’t be covered easily in their routine visits to provide mentorship/facilitation to teachers at school /classroom level and cover the identified gaps on the spot. The 2019 assessment report of Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education (DCTE) highlighted the need to obtain subject specific and pedagogical skills. For improvement of students, schools and teachers’ performance, school leadership model introduced that will be effective for school management and increasing student’s enrollment and retention of students in the school. KP-HCIP made significant progress in collaboration with the Directorate of Professional Development (DPD) in the development of training materials. Currently, six distinct training modules are nearing completion.
